Coffee with a Story
At Mulinga Coffee Estate, every bean carries the heritage of the Cherengani Hills. We grow our coffee with patience, care, and respect for the land and the people who nurture it. Each harvest is more than a crop
it’s our story, shared in every cup.
Rooted in the Cherangani Hills
Grown at elevations of 1,900m, our coffee thrives in fertile volcanic soils, nourished by mountain rains and cool breezes. This unique terroir shapes our coffee’s bright acidity, layered sweetness, and floral complexity.
Our Coffee Varieties
SL28
A prized Kenyan variety known for its drought resistance and exceptional cup quality, often showcasing bright acidity, winey notes, and complex fruit flavors.
RUIRU 11
A compact, high-yielding hybrid resistant to coffee leaf rust and berry disease, offering balanced cup profiles while being ideal for smallholder farms.
BATIAN
A Kenyan variety bred for disease resistance and productivity, with faster maturation and the ability to deliver both high yields and excellent cup quality.
The Journey From Our Farm...
Selective Harvesting
Hand-picking only the ripest red cherries at peak maturity. A careful, labor-intensive process that preserves quality from the very beginning.
Processing & Washing
Fresh cherries are de-pulped, washed, and fermented with precision. This careful handling develops the clean, bright flavors our coffee is known for.
Drying & Sorting
Beans are dried slowly on raised beds under the warm Kenyan sun. Regular turning ensures even drying and the preservation of delicate flavors.
Milling & Grading
Once dried, our parchment coffee is delivered to trusted dry millers. Here, the beans are hulled, polished, sorted, and graded to international export standards.
... To Your Cup
Each shipment from Mulinga carries the flavor of the Cherengani Hills and the dedication of our people. From our family farm to your roastery, every cup tells the story of where it came from.
Our coffees are available seasonally, with harvests between late October and December. We provide green coffee in export-ready lots, complete with detailed spec sheets, cupping profiles, and traceability records. Samples are available upon request.
