From our farm to your cup, every bean carries a story
Our journey began in the 1970s when the Etemesi family established this farm in the heart of the Cherengani Hills. While the farm's priorities shifted over the years, coffee remained a constant. The farm's very first coffee trees, planted as far back as the 1940s, served as the foundation of our legacy.
Upon his retirement from a 30-year career in banking in 2021, the eldest son took the coffee business to a whole new level. He built on the established practices, expanded operations, and elevated our coffee's profile. Now, the third generation is joining the ranks through his daughter, who brings her Gen-Z perspective to the family business. Yet, with all the change, one thing remains: Mulinga Coffee Estate knows its roots, and that story is still in every cup.

At 1,900m above sea level, our estate is situated in the North Rift Valley of Kenya, a region renowned for its fertile, volcanic soil at the foot of Mount Elgon. This extraordinary terroir, combined with the ideal climate and elevation of the Cherangani Hills, provides the perfect conditions for growing high-quality coffee.
Our operation is built on three core principles that guide every decision we make.
Quality
We are committed to producing specialty-grade coffee, cupping at 80 and above. We maintain detailed records of handling and processing for each lot to ensure full traceability and a consistently premium product.
Sustainability
We are dedicated stewards of our land. By employing sustainable farming practices, we work in harmony with the environment to protect the delicate ecosystem of the Cherangani Hills for future generations.
