Frequently Asked Questions

Where is Mulinga Coffee Estate Located?

We are based in Kitale, Trans-Nzoia County, in Kenya’s highlands. The area is located where volcanic soils and high altitude create ideal growing conditions for speciality coffee.

What coffee varieties do you grow?

We grow Arabica coffee, primarily SL28, Ruiru 11, and Batian varieties.

How is your coffee processed?

Our cherries are carefully handpicked, fully washed, fermented, and dried on raised beds under the sun. This traditional method preserves clarity and enhances the vibrant flavors in the cup.

When do you harvest the coffee?

Our main harvest runs from October to December, with a smaller fly crop between May and July. Each harvest is carefully managed to ensure uniform ripeness and consistent quality.

Is your coffee internationally compliant?

Yes. Every lot is fully documented and traceable from plot to port. We will be EUDR compliant by December 2025.

Why buy from a single Estate?

Single-estate means accountability, consistency, and authenticity. With Mulinga, you know exactly where your coffee comes from. One farm, One story.

Can I order small lots?

We offer sample lots for evaluation, though the availability of smaller volumes can be limited. Don't hesitate to get in touch with us to discuss current options.
